We worked on this English country house project on a large estate in the Surrey Hills for several years. Alex worked closely with the clients to create an earthy, textural design that reflects the outdoor lifestyle of this family. We initially completed the ‘back of house’ to ensure urgent practicality on moving into the property, creating a beautiful boot room that could also accommodate their three large dogs and a map and storage room with practical storage solutions for their climbing, mountain biking, equestrian and skiing equipment, complete with luxury electric boot warmer. We subsequently project managed a team of architects, structural engineers, builders, plumbers, electricians, landscapers and traditional artisans on a full house renovation that involved moving the clients to modified ancillary accommodation on the estate whilst we worked on the main house.

We produced CAD drawings and hand-drawn concept illustrations for the interiors. Our interior design work involved reconfiguring one side of the house to create a generous new master suite. We also worked on relocating the staircase, opening into the roof spaces by vaulting ceilings and designing a bespoke kitchen with a new extension complete with modern steel doors. The project also included bespoke cabinetry, bathroom schematics and lighting designs throughout the property.

We sourced many beautiful antique pieces and commissioned decorative one-off items. The client also utilised Alex’s love of gardens to work alongside leading landscape architects to create new areas surrounding the property and form a natural flow from indoors to out.

We completed this luxury design project at the end of 2023. Alex has subsequently been invited to work on another project for this client in the future so watch this space!
